January 30, 2018 Special Assembly by Class III C

Morning Assembly on the theme- &lsquo Sikkim- The Most Organic Farming State&rsquo

Sikkim was its own mountain kingdom till 1975 and came into existence as 22nd state of India on 26th April, 1975. The meditative, mural-filled traditional monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism coexist with Hindu shrines of the ever-growing Nepali community, both religions creating some astonishing mega-sculptures to adorn the skyline. Sikkim is now the first fully organic state of India. Today, all farming in Sikkim is carried out without the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, providing access to safer food choices and making agriculture a more environment-friendly activity.
To acquaint everyone with the state Sikkim, Class IIIC (Gladiolus) presented an enlightening and fabulous assembly. The assembly began with prayer to Almighty, followed by thought of the day, News Headlines and information about Sikkim. The students further shared information about the glory of Sikkim Khangchendzonga National Park located in North Sikkim, Gurudongmar Lake and Namgyal Institute of Tibetology. The audience were enticed to know about personalities like Danny Denzongpa a famous villion of 80&rsquo s and Omi a fashion designer and social entrepreneur from Northeast India. Students also told about the famous food of Sikkim like Momo, Sael Roti, Thukpa and Gundurk. Students also spoke lines on the beauty of Sikkim. Through a folk dance of Sikkim, they enlightened the culture of Sikkim. Everyone enjoyed the assembly as it was quite informative.
